Ingredients
- 1/2 c. white sugar
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 egg white or whole egg
- 1 c. flour (not self-rising)
- 1 c. mashed potatoes
- 1 c. potato water
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 c. lukewarm water
- 1 Tbsp. salt
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Put shortening, sugar and salt in a large bowl (cream as if making a cake).

3Then add potatoes and potato water; let cool enough so it won't kill the yeast, then add egg and yeast.

4Lastly add 1 cup flour.

5Mix well together and let stand for an hour.

6This will rise halfway up the bowl.

7At the end of the hour, add enough flour to make a stiff dough.

8Put in refrigerator overnight.

9Dough will last 3 or 4 days in the refrigerator or can bake at one time.

10Bake at 350° until done. (Can be baked lightly and frozen if you like, delicious frozen and heated as you want to use them.)

11Real easy after making the first time.
