Ingredients

  • 1 qt. warm milk (1 qt. water plus 1 c. dry milk)
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 pkg. yeast in warm milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 gal. plus 1 c. flour

Directions

    Mix milk, shortening, sugar and salt together.

    Let cool.

    Add yeast in warm milk and eggs and mix well.

    Add flour and knead well.

    Let rise 2 1/2 hours.

    Beat down and squeeze dough, through thumb and index fingers, making round balls.

    Put in greased round cake pans.

    Let rise 2 hours.

    Cook at 350°

    until brown.

    Turn onto foil.

    Let cool or serve hot.
