  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 1 c. scalded milk, lukewarm
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 2/3 c. shortening or butter, softened
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 7 to 8 c. plain flour

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in warm water in large bowl.

    Stir in milk, sugar, shortening, salt, egg and 4 cups flour; stir until smooth. Mix in enough remaining flour to make dough easy to handle.

    Knead about 5 minutes.

    Cover and let rise, punch down and pinch off rolls and let rise double and bake.
