Ingredients

  • cabbage
  • 1 tsp. bacon fat
  • sugar, salt and pepper to taste
  • about 1 Tbsp. flour
  • sweet or sour cream
  • vinegar to taste (sweet pickle juice can be used)

Directions

    Slice cabbage as for slaw.

    Cook with bacon fat, sugar, salt and pepper until tender in a little water. Sprinkle with the flour.

    Add the cream and bring to a boil. Add a little vinegar to suit your taste. Good when served with corn oysters (fritters).
