- 1 lb. lean boneless chuck
- salt
- 2 onions, chopped
- 8 to 10 potatoes, peeled and cut
- 1 to 2 lb. carrots, peeled and sliced
- milk
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- pepper
Directions

1Wash meat; boil in 2 cups water and salt for about 2 hours. Add vegetables and boil until done (about 30 minutes).

2Remove meat from pan.

3Mash all the vegetables and add butter and pepper. If too thick, add some milk (but a spoon must stand up in it). Serve with the sliced meat.
