Ingredients

  • 2 None whole-wheat pitas, cut into triangles
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 None onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 (7 oz) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup skim milk
  • 1/4 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tsp finely chopped fresh cilantro leaves

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°F. Place pitas on a baking tray. Bake for 8 mins, or until crisp.

    Meanwhile, combine lemon juice, onion and garlic in a small frying pan. Cook over medium heat, stirring, for 4 mins, or until onion has softened. Transfer to a food processor or blender and puree with cumin, chickpeas, milk and sesame oil until smooth. Stir in cilantro.

    Serve hummus with pita crisps.
