Hungarian Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. boston butt ground 1 time or 1 lb. pork & 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 c. rice, regular not minute
  • 1 large can of tomato juice
  • 1 can sauerkraut, drained - large can
  • 1 very large or 2 regular cabbage heads

Directions

    Mix meat, egg, onion, rice in a bowl, salt and pepper to taste.

    Cut around core of cabbage and remove it.
  3. 3
    Put cabbage in large pan of boiling water.
  4. 4
    Cook a few minutes until leaves can be removed.
  5. 5
    Remove leaves 1 at a time.
  6. 6
    Do not use very small leaves.
