- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 3 Tbsp. Postum
- 3 Tbsp. hot water
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 6 eggs, separated
- 1 c. walnuts, finely chopped (optional)
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients 3 times.

2Beat yolks until lemon colored; add 3/4 cup sugar and beat.

3Add hot water and beat again.

4Beat egg whites well, but not stiff.

5Add 3/4 cup sugar slowly to whites and beat until peaks form.

6Add 3 tablespoons egg white mixture to yolks.

7Add dry ingredients to yolks; blend well.

8Fold in egg whites to yolk mixture.

9Bake 35 minutes in 2 (9-inch) greased and floured cake pans at 350°.
