- 2 chopped onions
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 1/2 lb. stew beef, cut in 1-inch cubes
- 2 Tbsp. Hungarian paprika
- 1 ripe tomato
- 1 bell pepper
- pinch of salt
Directions

1Saute onions over low heat until golden brown, then add beef and stir for 10 minutes. Toss in paprika.

2Add 1 cup warm water. Cover and cook 1 hour over low heat.

3Add more water, if necessary.

4After about 45 minutes, add peeled tomatoes, cut into 1-inch pieces, pepper rings and salt.

5Cook until tender.
