  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons furikake (see Note)
  • 2 teaspoons chile powder
  • Wasabi peas, for serving

Directions

    In a large pot, combine the canola oil and popcorn kernels.

    Cook over moderate heat, shaking the pan, until the popcorn is popped, about 3 minutes.

    Remove from the heat.

    Stir the butter, furikake and chile powder into the popcorn.

    Transfer to a large bowl, top with wasabi peas and serve.
