- 1 c. salt
- 2 Tbsp. alum
- vinegar
- pickling spice
- 9 c. sugar
Directions

1To cucumbers, add salt and cover with water.

2Let it stand for 4 days.

3Drain and rinse 3 times.

4Add alum, cover with water and let stand 24 hours.

5Drain and rinse 3 times, cover with vinegar and let stand for 10 days.

6Drain and add pickling spice and 3 cups sugar.

7Add 3 cups sugar the next day and 3 more the next day after.

8Heat and pack in jars, if desired.

9Will keep just covered in the cabinet.
