  • 5 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 c. nuts
  • 1 lb. oleo (quarters)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. brown sugar

Directions

    Soften margarine; add vanilla, sugar and eggs.

    Stir in flour. Add nuts.

    Do not chop nuts.

    Larger pieces look more festive when baked.

    Pack dough into an 8-inch square wax paper lined pan. Chill overnight.

    Divide dough into 3 slabs.

    Slice 1/4-inch thick.

    Bake on a cookie sheet approximately 8 minutes at 350°. Should be crisp and light brown.

    Can be frozen and baked as needed.
