  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. almond
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Cream the brown sugar and Crisco together.

    Add the eggs, almond, flour, salt, cream of tartar and baking soda; mix well. Add chopped nuts.

    Shape into long rolls.

    Wrap in waxed paper; chill dough for 1 hour.

    Slice thin.

    Bake on greased cookie sheet at 350° for 12 minutes.
