  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 2 c. brown sugar or 1 c. brown and 1 c. granulated
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 1/2 c. sifted flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Blend butter, sugar and eggs.

    Mix dry ingredients together and stir into butter mixture; mix well.

    Add nuts and vanilla. Divide dough into 2 parts; shape each in a roll.

    Wrap in wax paper and chill in refrigerator until firm enough to slice.

    Slice and bake at 350° for 10 minutes or until light brown.
