  • 4 c. plain flour
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. nuts, chopped
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg

Directions

    Sift the sugar and cream it and butter together; beat eggs and add to creamed mixture.

    Sift all other ingredients together and add to first mixture.
  3. 3
    Knead with hands when mixture becomes too stiff for a spoon.

    Chill well and slice.

    Bake in moderate oven.
