  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Add egg and beat well.

    Add flour gradually while beating the mixture.

    Add chopped nuts, then vanilla.

    Shape into a loaf.

    Let stand in icebox until it can be sliced (couple of hours).

    Slice and bake in moderate oven at 350° for 10 minutes.
