Ingredients

  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 envelope Knox gelatine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. cream, whipped
  • 12 graham crackers, crushed
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar

Directions

    Crush the graham crackers.

    Mix with butter and brown sugar. Line an 8-inch square pan with half of the crumbs.

    (Vanilla wafers could be used.)

    Soak gelatine in 1/2 cup cold water.

    Beat 2 egg yolks.

    Add 1/2 cup milk and 1/2 cup sugar.

    Boil slightly.

    While hot, add gelatine mixture.

    Add vanilla and cool until slightly congealed.

    Add 2 egg whites (beaten stiff) and whipped cream (whipped).

    Place in graham cracker lined pan.

    Top with the other half of the crumbs.

    Chill in refrigerator.
