Ingredients

  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 qt. buttermilk
  • 2 c. Bran Buds
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 5 c. flour
  • 5 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 c. bran flakes
  • 1/2 lb. raisins (optional)

Directions

    Pour boiling water over Bran Buds and let stand.

    Mix Crisco, sugar, eggs, buttermilk and soaked Bran Buds.

    Mix well.

    Then stir in bran flakes and raisins.

    Sift dry ingredients and add to mixture.

    Stir well.

    Store in refrigerator to be used as needed. Can be stored for 6 weeks.

    Bake muffins for 25 minutes at 350°.
