Ingredients

  • 3 c. boiling water
  • 2 c. 100% All-Bran cereal
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 qt. buttermilk
  • 5 c. flour
  • 5 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 c. Grape-Nuts cereal

Directions

    Pour water over bran and set aside.

    Cream sugar and shortening.
  3. 3
    Add eggs, beating well.

    Add milk and flour alternating with soda and salt.

    Add Grape-Nuts and bran last. Bake in greased muffin tin filled half full for 12 to 15 minutes in a 400° oven.

    If batter is chilled, raise temperature to 425°. Keeps in refrigerator 6 weeks.
