Ingredients

  • 9 c. flour
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 2 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 Tbsp. lard or cooking oil
  • 2 c. water

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in warm water.

    Mix oil or melted lard, salt and yeast in large bowl.

    Add flour and water, a little at a time. Knead until dough is very smooth.

    Shape in ball and let rise. Cover with cloth in large greased bowl until doubled.

    Punch down dough and knead on floured board for at least 5 minutes.

    Shape into 4 balls.

    Place in greased pans.

    Cover and let rise for 20 to 30 minutes in warm place.

    Bake in 400° oven for 50 minutes.
