  • 2 slices rye bread cubed
  • 2 slices white bread cubed
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 pound ground beef or chuck or sirloin
  • 1 onion medium, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon parsley snipped
  • 3 tablespoons cheese grated Parmesean
  • 1 egg slightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 can tomato sauce 8 ouces
  • 1 teaspoon oregano

    In a large bowl, combine breads and water.

    When water has been absorbed, mash with fork.

    Stir in meat, onion, parsley, and cheese.

    Add the egg, salt, and pepper.

    Mix well.

    Place the mixture in a 9 x 5 x 3-inch pan.

    Dot with butter.

    Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes.
