Ingredients

  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1/4 c. Crisco oil
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 3 c. self-rising flour
  • butter or margarine

Directions

    Mix yeast in warm water until dissolved.

    Add sugar, buttermilk and Crisco oil to yeast.

    Add flour and knead a few times.

    Roll out on floured board; cut with biscuit cutter.

    Put small amount of butter or margarine on each roll and fold in half. Put in a greased pan.

    Let rise for 2 hours in a warm place. Bake in a preheated oven at 425°, until brown.
