- 3 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 5 c. self-rising flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. lukewarm water
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Sift dry ingredients.

3Cut in shortening.

4Add buttermilk and yeast; mix.

5Place desired amount on floured board.

6Roll out and cut as for biscuits.

7Let warm to room temperature before baking 12 to 15 minutes at 350°.

8Dough will keep several weeks in airtight container in refrigerator.
