Ingredients
- 4 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 to 3/4 pkg. raisins (golden and dark)
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 Tbsp. shortening or oil
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 pkg. currants
- 2 Tbsp. caraway seed
- 1 1/3 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Mix dry ingredients together.

2Use some of the flour to mix with raisins and currants (to keep them from sticking together). Add the liquids to the dry ingredients and the fruit mixture, then nuts and pour this mixture into a well-greased and floured tube pan (10-inch), Bundt pan or 9 x 5 x 2-inch loaf pan.

3When making for Christmas, I use colored candied sprinkles.

4Bake at 350° for approximately 1 hour.
