- 4 cups wheat flour
- 1 12 cups white flour
- 1 14 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 cups buttermilk
Directions

1Preheat the oven to 400F.

2Mix dry ingredients.

3Stir in enough buttermilk to make the dough soft.

4Dust the work surface with wheat flour.

5Knead the dough until smooth.

6Form dough into a circle about 1 1/2 inches thick.

7Mark a deep cross in the top with a floured knife.

8Put on parchment paper and place on a baking sheet.

9Bake for 45 minutes or until bread is browned and sounds hollow when tapped on the base.

10Cool on a wire rack and wrap in a clean tea towel to keep soft.
