- 1 cup strong whole wheat flour
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 12 cup whole milk
- 14 cup white wine vinegar
- 14 cup butter
- 1 egg
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

2mix together both flours, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

3melt butter in the microwave.

4mix together milk, vinegar, butter, and egg until blended.

5Pour the milk mixture in with the flour mixture.

6Prepare baking paper by spraying it with cooking spray (or butter) and powder it with flour.

7Take the dough out on a floured surface (using white flour) and knead until the dough can hold a rounded form.

8Place the round dough loaf on the floured baking paper.

9Dab the top with a bit of melted butter, cut an X into the top of the loaf (To let the fairies out, as the Irish say!)

10and place it onto a middle rack in the oven.

11Bake for around 35-40 minutes until the loaf is hollow (you should be able to lightly knock on it and tell).
