- 1 stick margarine
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 c. plain flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 5 egg yolks
- 5 egg whites
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 c. coconut
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Cream margarine and shortening; add sugar.

2Beat until smooth. Add egg yolks and beat well.

3Combine flour and soda.

4Add to creamed mixture with buttermilk.

5Add vanilla, coconut, nuts and stiffly beaten egg whites.

6Pour into 3 greased and floured pans. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes or until done.

7Don't open oven until done, it will fall!
