  • 1 loaf French Bread
  • Butter, To Spread On Bread
  • 1 pound Italian Sausage
  • 1 pound Zucchini
  • 6 ounces, weight Onion
  • 1 can (14.5 Oz. Size) Diced Tomatoes And Green Chilies
  • 1/4 teaspoons Each Of Oregano, Garlic Salt, Sugar, Basil And Pepper
  • 4 Tablespoons Italian Bread Crumbs

Directions

    Slice French bread and spread with butter.

    Wrap in foil and put in the oven at 350 degrees F until toasted.

    Slice sausage, remove casing and brown in a skillet.

    Slice zucchini and onions.

    Remove sausage and drain on paper towels.

    Brown zucchini and onions in the sausage drippings.

    Add tomatoes and green chilies, oregano, garlic salt, sugar, basil and pepper.

    Stir to mix.

    Sprinkle Italian bread crumbs on top of the zucchini mixture.

    Arrange sausage on top of the bread crumbs.

    Cover and cook 10 minutes until zucchini is tender.

    Serve with hot bread.
