- 5 eggs
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. chopped raisins
- 1 c. (8 oz.) pkg. chopped dates
- 1 c. chopped walnuts
- 1 c. blackberry jam
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. soda
Directions

1Cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time.

2Sift flour before measuring, then add spices and salt to the flour. Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add alternately with dry ingredients to the creamed mixture.

3Add the raisins, dates and nuts by hand, mixing well.

4Add jam last. Bake in lightly greased Teflon tube pan (angel food cake pan) at 325° about 2 hours. Treat like fruitcake. Store 1 month before eating.

5May be kept in cool place up to 1 year.
