- 1 c. buttermilk
- 3 1/2 c. plain flour
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 c. jam
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp. soda
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar.

2Sift flour, spices and salt.

3Add soda to buttermilk.

4Add flour mixture to buttermilk.

5Add eggs, one at a time; beat after each addition.

6Add jam and blend into batter with wooden spoon.

7Bake 3 (9-inch) layers at 325° for 30 to 40 minutes.
