  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 Tbsp. baking soda
  • 1 pt. jam (any flavor)
  • 3 1/2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 Tbsp. allspice
  • 1 Tbsp. cloves
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla

Directions

    Mix dry ingredients and wet ingredients separately.

    Add together.

    Beat at low speed. Cook at 300° for about 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done.

    Let set in covered dish for two days.

    Jam will soak into cake.

    Slice and eat.
