Ingredients
- 1 small chopped onion
- 1 lb. chopped beef or chicken
- 1 large (35 oz.) can peeled tomatoes
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- salt and pepper
- Romano or Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 lb. pasta (medium shells)
Directions

1In a saucepan, saute onions in olive oil until softened.

2Add the chicken or beef and brown over medium heat.

3Put tomatoes through a mill and add to mixture.

4Season to taste.

5Simmer uncovered approximately 20 minutes.

6Add peas, lower heat and cook an additional 10 minutes.

7Cook and drain pasta according to directions.

8Toss pasta with sauce, sprinkle with cheese and serve. Yields 4 servings.
