- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 to 2 Tbsp. coffee
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped Brazil or other nuts
- solid milk chocolate, candy kisses or semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2In large mixer bowl, combine all ingredients, except Brazil nuts and chocolate pieces.

3Blend well at low speed.

4Stir in 1/2 cup Brazil nuts; mix thoroughly.

5Chill dough for easier handling.

6Shape into balls, using rounded teaspoonful for each.

7Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

8Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.

9Remove from oven.

10Press candy kiss or 5 chocolate chips into center of hot cookie.

11When chocolate has softened, spread to frost.

12Sprinkle with remaining chopped nuts. Makes about 36 cookies.
