Ingredients
- 1 c. sifted flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 c. sugar
- pinch of salt
- 3/4 bar butter or oleo (3 oz.)
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp. water or milk
- fresh fruit: peaches, plums, blueberries, etc.
- brown sugar
- butter (dots)
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375°.

2Sift dry ingredients together.

3With pastry blender or 2 knives, cut butter into dry ingredients.

4Add beaten egg; mix.

5(If dough is too dry for spreading, add a little cold milk or orange juice.)

6Spread dough on bottom and sides of 9-inch buttered pie plate.

7Peel peaches; cut in slices and place over the dough (if plums are used, do not peel).

8Sprinkle top of cake with brown sugar; dot with butter.

9Bake until cake is golden brown on bottom and fruit is soft, about 20 to 30 minutes.
