- 2 cups flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 egg
- 2/3 cup milk
Directions

1Sift flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and cream of tarter into a bowl.

2Add shortening and with a fork or pastry cutter, blend until mixture resembles corn meal.

3Add the milk and egg together in a bowl, add to flour mixture.

4Stir to a stiff dough.

5Knead 5 times, roll to 1/2 inch thick, cut into round circles.

6Bake on cookie sheet for 10-13 minutes at 425.
