  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. buttermilk
  • 1 c. white Karo syrup
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 c. pecans, finely chopped

Directions

    Beat eggs until frothy; add flour to sugar, then add to egg mixture. Add buttermilk, syrup, salt and vanilla. Cut butter into small pieces and add to mixture; beat well. (A wire egg beater is better than an electric mixer.) Stir in pecans and pour into unbaked pastry shell. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes or until top is slightly brown. Reduce oven temperature to 250° and bake 45 minutes or until set.
