  • 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 c. fresh lime juice
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 1 (9-inch) baked pie crust
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 6 Tbsp. sugar

Directions

    Combine condensed milk and lime juice in medium-size bowl. Blend in egg yolks; turn into cooled crust.

    Heat oven to 325°. Beat egg whites with cream of tartar in small bowl until soft peaks form.

    Beat in sugar, one tablespoon at a time, until egg whites form stiff, glossy peaks.

    Spoon over filling.

    Spread to edge of crust to seal.

    Bake 15 minutes or until golden.

    Cool on wire rack to room temperature.
