Kidney Bean Dip

- 1 (16 oz.) can kidney beans
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. chili powder or cumin
- 1 c. Cheddar cheese, finely grated
Directions

1Drain beans, reserving liquid.

2Mash beans into a smooth paste (I use a food processor).

3Melt butter in small saucepan.

4Add beans and cook over medium-high heat about 5 minutes.

5Stir in seasonings.

6Add reserved bean liquid to reach desired dipping consistency.

7Stir in cheese and heat until cheese is melted. Serve warm with corn chips. Makes about 3 cups.

8Reheats nicely in the microwave.
