  • 2 bread mediums -sized slices of crustless stale, soaked briefly in
  • 1 1/8 pounds lean minced lamb or beef,, 1lb
  • 1 onion medium -sized, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons mint tbl Freshly chopped, or 1 dried mint
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley Freshly
  • 1 clove garlic crushed
  • 1 egg
  • salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • plain flour for dusting
  • vegetable oil for shallow or deep frying

Directions

    Squeeze out excess water from the bread, leaving it quite dry.

    Combine all the ingredients for the kofte and mix well.

    Make walnut-shaped balls and keep them covered until they are to be cooked.

    Then roll them lightly in flour and fry in hot oil for 2-3 minutes until golden all over.
