- sliced cucumbers
- 7 cloves garlic
- 14 sprigs dill
- 7 tsp. alum
- 1 qt. vinegar
- 3 qt. water
- 1 c. pickling salt
Directions

1Fill fruit jars with cucumbers, either whole or sliced.

2Put 1 clove of garlic and a sprig of dill in bottom of each jar and a sprig of dill on top, also 1 teaspoon alum.

3In a kettle, bring vinegar, water and pickling salt to a boil.

4Pour over pickles and seal.

5Process five minutes in boiling water.

6Let stand for 6 weeks before using.

7Makes 7 quarts of pickles.
