Kraut Casserole

Ingredients

  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 c. canned kraut, drained
  • 1 can (16 oz.) stewed tomatoes
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. packed brown sugar
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • meat (your choice of hot links, smoked sausage, wieners or 1 can corned beef that has been shredded)

Directions

    Fry bacon, drain, crumble and set aside.

    Saute onion in 1 tablespoon bacon fat.
  3. 3
    Place drained kraut in 2-quart greased or sprayed casserole.

    Stir in onion.

    Top with the meat of your choice.

    Pour the stewed tomatoes over this.

    Sprinkle with brown sugar and bacon bits.

    Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
