Lacey's Broccoli & Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped broccoli, thawed
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 (8 ounce) jar Cheese Whiz
  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 3 cups cooked white rice

Directions

    Saute the onion and broccoli in the butter till it begins to get tender- add cheese, milk and soup.

    Mix till well combined.

    Add the rice- Bake at 325 degrees untill it is bubbly- 25 minutes or so.

    Sometimes we add waterchestnuts - small can of chopped.

    (drained).

    Sometimes I use onion- sometimes I do not use it- whatever is handy.

    Cheez Whiz or Velveeta- either will work fine.
