- 4 lamb shanks
- 1 tsp. dill
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. rosemary
- 1 large clove garlic
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. water plus 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
Directions

1Place shanks in roaster.

2Add remaining ingredients.

3Cover. Bake 3 hours at 300°.

4Remove cover.
-
5Continue cooking for 30 minutes.

6Pour sauce into saucepan.

7Reduce to half over high heat.

8Chill and remove fat.
-
9Take meat off bones.
-
10Add sauce. Heat.
-
11Serve with rice.
