  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. whole basil
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 lb. can tomatoes
  • 1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 8 oz. egg noodles
  • 3 c. creamed cottage cheese
  • 1/2 c. Parmesan and Romano cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1/2 Tbsp. + 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 Tbsp. pepper
  • 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese, sliced thin

Directions

    Brown beef; spoon off fat.

    Add next 7 ingredients.

    Simmer approximately 30 minutes.

    Cook noodles; rinse and combine remaining ingredients in bowl except Mozzarella cheese.

    Layer noodles, cottage cheese, Mozzarella, then meat sauce.

    Repeat. Bake at 375° for 30 minutes.

    Let stand 10 minutes before cutting into squares.
