Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 can (16 oz. size) tomatoes
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 3 Tbsp. chopped parsley
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. sweet basil
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1 c. grated Romano cheese or round slices
  • 1 carton low-fat cottage cheese
  • small box lasagna noodles

Directions

    Cook noodles as directed.

    Brown ground chuck, onion and garlic.

    Add next 8 ingredients, cover and simmer 20 minutes.

    In rectangular 1 1/2-quart casserole, put layer of noodles, Mozzarella cheese, sprinkle grated Cheddar cheese, cottage cheese, meat sauce and Romano cheese.

    Repeat once and end with grated Romano cheese.

    Bake at 350° until bubbly.
