- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1 1/2 to 2 lb. ground chuck
- 1 pkg. onion soup mix
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 2 cans tomato paste
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 lb. lasagne noodles
- 1 (1 lb.) carton cottage cheese
- 3/4 lb. (or more) Mozzarella
- 2 Tbsp. (or more) Parmesan
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 3/4 tsp. sugar
- 3/4 tsp. oregano
Directions

1Brown garlic and meat in hot olive oil in skillet.

2Stir in onion soup mix, water, tomato paste and sauce, salt, pepper, sugar and oregano.

3Cover and simmer 30 minutes (or more).

4Cook lasagne noodles according to package directions.

5Drain and place in cold water.

6Remove from cold water as needed.

7Place a small amount of meat mixture in bottom of 12 x 8 x 2-inch pan.

8Arrange single layer of lasagne noodles, placed lengthwise, then layer Mozzarella, cottage cheese, meat sauce and Parmesan in pan. Repeat, ending in meat sauce.

9Sprinkle top with Parmesan.

10Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or longer.

11Makes 8 to 10 servings.
