  • 1 large can sliced peaches (No. 29 can) or any canned fruit
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2/3 c. milk or enough to make thin batter
  • 1 stick melted butter or margarine

    Heat in pot the juice and fruit.

    Pour in baking dish with 1 stick melted butter.

    Mix flour, sugar, vanilla and milk to make thin batter; pour evenly over fruit.

    Bake at 275° until brown or test with toothpick inserted to see if done.

    Serve warm with ice cream, whipped topping or cream.
