Ingredients: 1 1/2 lb. cake flour; 1 lb. honey; 1/2 lb. sugar; 1/4 lb. brown sugar; 3 well beaten eggs; 1 lb. orange peel, chopped; 1 c. chopped pecans; 1/2 lb. flour; 1 tsp. ground cloves; 2 tsp. allspice; 2 tsp. cinnamon; 1 Tbsp. baking soda; 1/2 lb. citron, chopped fine; 1/4 lb. lemon peel, chopped; 1 tsp. baking powder; grated rind of 1 lemon; 1/2 c. brandy

1/2 lb. sugar
1/4 lb. brown sugar

Mix together the honey with 1/4 pound sugar.

Boil, skim and cool.

Then add sifted cake flour.

In separate pan, mix the brown sugar and 1/4 pound white sugar, eggs, spices and soda which has been dissolved in brandy, citron, orange peel, lemon peel, grated lemon rind and baking powder.

Mix the nuts with the all-purpose flour and add to the batter.
