- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups flour, sifted
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large lemon , grated rind
- 1/2 cup sugar, after bread is baked
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and blend well. Sift flour, measure, and sift again with baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture then add milk and grated lemon rind Bake for 1 hours at 325 degrees. Take from oven a remove from pan. (Bread size pan)--b the way, grease the pan before baking. Place bread on cooling rack over large plate. While hot, pour over it, the juice of 1 fairly large lemon mixed with 1/2 cup sugar.
