Lemon Fruit Cake

- 2 c. sugar
- 1 lb. softened margarine
- 6 eggs
- 4 c. flour
- 1/2 to 1 lb. nuts (pecans taste good)
- 1/2 lb. candied cherries
- 1/2 lb. candied pineapple
- 1 1/2 oz. lemon flavoring
Directions

1Mix sugar, butter and flavoring.

2Add flour, a little at a time, alternating with the eggs.

3Begin and end with the flour. Add nuts, cherries and pineapple.

4Bake in greased spring-form pan at 375° for 30 minutes.

5Turn temperature down to 300° for 1 hour, then turn temperature to 275° for 15 minutes.

6Let cool a few minutes, then turn out of pan carefully.
